Things we love about our property….
The location is fantastic for short and long breaks away. As it is just a short drive from Caen, it is perfectly located for weekend trips from the UK.
It is situated within a quiet and peaceful hamlet, but only a 20 min drive to the vibrant town of Vire, so it is great for shopping and close to many lovely restaurants. There is also lots of spectacular wildlife that visits the large garden, and incredible opportunities for stargazing on clear nights.

Detached house to finish renovating with over 1/2 acre garden

The house has been partially renovated by the present owners over the last 18 years and benefits from a new roof and timbers (2008), partial re-wiring, double glazed windows (except 1) with wood shutters and is habitable as it is whilst the work is continued.  Viewing is recommended to appreciate the potential of this property.

The property is situated between two quiet villages, whilst Vire and Villedieu-Les-Poeles are both pleasant historic towns approx 10-15 minutes drive away.  Granville, with its excellent beaches, sailing marina and fishing port is only a 30-minute drive west from St Sever, with Mont St. Michel, Bayeux with its famous tapestry, Avranches, Coutances, St Lo and the D-Day landing sites in easy reach.  The village of St Sever has a good variety of local shops including a pharmacy, dry-cleaners as well as all the essential food and delicacies for which the region is famous. Saint Sever is a farming/market town with a substantial range of local shops and facilities.   The Channel Ports of Caen Ouistreham (1 hour) and both Le Havre and Cherbourg (90 minutes)are easily accessible  and it will take 4 hours to drive to the Channel tunnel at Calais.  There is a mainline train station at Vire which is on the Paris/Granville line and connects with Paris in about 2 hours and 40 minutes.
