Our most favourite thing about the house is opening up the double doors to the balcony on a summers evening and sitting in a comfortable chair in the sun until sunset. The balcony presents such a lovely place for evening meals too, as the sun sets over the hills.
Our children, when younger, loved the interesting nature of the garden with its “secret” wooded area and many levels and we as adults love the privacy with so many places to go and sit in the garden. The other great thing for us has been having so many dry storage areas allowing us to keep the vast living areas serene and clutter free.
The house feels so strong and sturdy with a build quality where every door fits so immaculately into its frame. In the main house there are such great practicalities like being able to see nearly all the plumbing from the basement. With a soak away drain in the main garage, who wouldn’t want to hose down with hot water after a muddy run or walk (I’m sure dogs of dog owners will appreciate that feature)!
I could write an essay about the things we love about the house but I’ll end with the fact that we can be walking in the 2 beautiful waterfalls of Mortain within 1/4 mile – a treat in all weathers.
