‘The property has been our ‘special place’ for over 30 years. It gives us a chance to escape the rat race and recharge our batteries in complete tranquility. We just turn up, take off the dust sheets and start having fun! We love the region and all our friends and neighbours but most of all, we love the simplicity and economy of an off-grid holiday home, with the opportunity to cycle, walk, go fishing, spend the day at the beach or just relax by the fire with a good book. The grass is currently managed for us and there is plenty of ‘overspill accommodation’ if guests want to come and camp in the paddock. The property was renovated by local French Artisans progressively since 1992. The current owners use the property for holiday accommodation.  Viewing is highly recommended.

The house is situated on the outskirts of a small village with a bar/shop, children’s play area and small lake.  It is within easy driving distance of the A84 motorway access at Pont Farcy.  It is about 35 minutes from the coast at Granville.  It is 308 km to Calais.  The heritage site of Mont Saint Michel is 45 km away.   Gouvets is situated in the Manche department (Normandy region) in the north of France 20 km from Saint-Lo, the department capital and 252 km from Paris which can be reached by rail at nearby Villedieu-les-Poêles in approx. 2 hours and 50 minutes.
