Message From The Seller

The house offers perfect peace and quiet while being very close to all amenities.  The garden is heaven in the summer and the view could not be bettered, it is a strong house, and is cool in summer, warm in winter.  The house is enchanting.  The garden gets better every year – it includes a cherry tree and walnut trees, hazlenuts and an abundance of spring flowers.  My second floor art studio is one of my favourite places!

The nearby village of Montsecret is only 2 km, and has a bakery, village shop and post office.  The property is midway between Vire and Flers (both a 20 minute drive) which both offer all major facilities, including daily trains to Paris.  Tinchebray and Vassy are about  5 minutes drive away.  The ferry port at Caen Ouistreham is 1 hour’s drive, Cherbourg is 1 1/2 hour’s drive and Calais is 3 1/2 hour’s drive.  The airport can be reached in under 90mins.  Many activities are available in the area with lots of glorious countryside to be explored making this ideal for hiking, horse riding and cycling. There are public tennis courts nearby in the area as well as several golf courses including one a Clécy, which is 20 kilometers from Vassy and the 18 hole Golf de Vire.  The Normandy landing beaches are within an hour’s drive and the UNESCO heritage site of Mont Saint Michel is just over an hour’s drive.
