Message From The Seller

The apple orchard really drew us to the house as, unusually for the region, the 80 apple trees are all eating (not cider) apples with at least 5 different varieties. In Autumn, the nearby Musee du Poire  collect some apples in exchange for local cider. We also love the peacefulness and the fantastic views across the countryside”

Pretty cottage with apple orchard in Normandy

The property would have orginally been a one room house with a loft over.  It has been restored  by the present owners and now offers attractive accommodation which retains original features such as exposed beams and colombage (cob) and stone walls and benefits from double glazed windows, and a light and airy kitchen extension which opens up on to the patio area and takes full advantage over the views over surrounding countryside. The house is in excellent condition and ready to move straight into.  Viewing is highly recommended.

It  is situated within easy reach of the town of Barenton with all its amenities including  supermarket, bakeries, pharmacy, hairdresser, post office, tabac and cafés in Barenton. Further shopping can be found at Mortain and Domfront (10km) and St Hilaire du Harcouët (15 km). The ferry port of Caen-Ouistreham is 1 1/4 hours away, St Malo is 1 1/2 hours away and Cherbourg is 2 hours.  Calais and the Euro Tunnel are approximately a 5 hour drive. Airports within 2 hrs are Rennes, Deauville (Ryanair from Stansted), Dinard (Ryanair flights from Bristol, Birmingham, London Stansted and East Midlands) and Cherbourg (Flybe from Southampton).
