As a family we have had some wonderful holidays here, we love the tranquil, rural setting and found it is well placed for visiting attractions in both Normandy and Brittany. The garden is not too large and is a perfect sun trap, it will make someone a lovely home or holiday home.

Detached stone house to finish renovating in Normandy

The current owners have spent the last 15 years renovating this former stable block, it now requires some finishing work on the ground floor.  The dining room on the ground floor is presently used for storage and will require new windows to the front and rear, flooring, plasterboarding and insulation. It is situated near the end of a quiet lane in a rural hamlet.  Viewing is highly recommended.

The property is within 3 km of a village with Bar Tabac, Bakery, Hairdresser, Church and Primary School.  Within easy reach are the towns of Ducey and St James (about 10 minutes drive) with its supermarket and out of town hypermarket with petrol station, street market (Mondays), post office, banks, bakers/patisseries, bistro, bars and restaurants. There is a trout fishing lake a short distance away on the road to St. James, or more serious fishing in the valley of the Selune and Beuvron rivers. Although situated in Normandy, the property is just over the border from Brittany, and views of Mont St. Michel are nearby. The UNESCO heritage site and bay of Mont St. Michel is about 30 minutes drive and has many many attractions, as well as being an excellent base for history and culture. The Parliament of Brittany (Parlement de Bretagne) is approximately 51 km away. The closest airport is Rennes Airport (57 km) and in the surrounding area there are Dinard Airport (58 km), St. Brieuc Airport (114 km), or Angers Airport (127 km). The ferry port at Caen Ouistreham is about 150 km, Cherbourg is about 1 1/2 hours’ drive and Saint Malo (1 hour), Le Havre and Dieppe are about a 3 hour drive and the Eurotunnel at Calais is about a 4 1/2 hour drive.
