Juvigny-Les-Vallées is based in the Manche region of Normandy and encompasses the communes of Juvigny-le-Tertre, La Bazoge, Bellefontaine, Chasseguey, Chérencé-le-Roussel, Le Mesnil-Rainfray and Le Mesnil Tove.
At Juvigny-Le-Tertre you have wonderful views, reaching far and wide across the Normandy countryside with the added bonus of amenities nearby. You will find a Boulangerie, Boucherie, Supermarket, Bank, Library, Pharmacy, Restaurant, Football Club and a recycled warehouse. A variety of objects and household goods are stored in this huge warehouse, where the price is reduced the longer the item is there.
Just a few kilometres away you will find the small village of Chérencé-le-Roussel where there is a restaurant/bar that serves pizzas, burgers etc to take away or enjoy inside. There are also karaoke nights and televised sports events to while away an evening. This village is also well known for its annual Vide Grenier (empty attic – think car boot sale) where you can discover some fine bargains, unique French objects not to mention lots of French Vinyl records.
Every year in La Bazoge, again just a few kilometres away, there is a music festival over the weekend in the month of August. This is on a much smaller scale to that of Le Papillons de Nuit but nevertheless it has become a 40 year old tradition and one that is welcome in this corner of Normandy.
Nearby you have the beautiful village of Bellefontaine, its church is picture postcard when lit up at night and is home to The Enchanted Village. A wonderful day out for all the family.
Once inside there is ample parking and the entrance is at the very top of the Village.
The first thing that you are struck by is the numerous zip wires going across the park. Whilst no helmets are required, there is always someone on hand to zip wire across to anyone stranded!
At the bottom of the park there are more activities – go karting, bouncy castles, a raft that you have to pull to cross a lake, mini pedlos and a bicycle zip wire.
At the back of the park you will find, the original Enchanted Village – fairy tales are told in little wooden houses, all set within the woods.
And let us not forget the sumo suit wrestling at the top of the park – quite a struggle to get into but so much fun and an indoors game room.
There is a café but picnics are allowed and many do take their own food and drinks into the village. This is a wonderful day out for all the family.
We hope you enjoyed this little insight into the commune of Juvigny les Vallées and the surrounding areas.
